Hockey News North has received the following press release relative to a school based fitness curriculum that includes National Hockey League star Nick Foligno.

It was the summer of 2005 when Nick Foligno and his strength and conditioning coach Callen McGibbon’s paths connected.

During the next 16 years they reached the pinnacle of their respective fields and along the way always talked about doing more.

In 2018 it came together, having  a common goal of providing students and youth with fitness skills for life they embarked on a mission to reach as many kids as possible. The original founders reflect on why the mission is important to them.

“For me  (Callen McGibbon)  I see how being healthy has added massive value in every vertical of my life.  As my career took me from training Olympians, professional athletes and aspiring youth I saw the barriers that exist between youth and  access to professional fitness advice.”

“In a world where health and vitality are met with incredible importance, I (Nick Foligno) want today’s youth to have the same opportunities, education and resources I had when I was young. As a father of three, I know how important it is to teach healthy habits and encourage physical fitness in a way that is engaging to young minds.”

About the Company

REP is a software application designed to aid in the delivery of school based fitness curriculum.

The platform enables users to run a  fitness assessment with any device, communicate results seamlessly throughout an organization then analyze trends.

The platform uses A.I. to instantly generate workouts that are designed specifically to each student’s individual fitness level, then adjust difficulty on user feedback.

With 65 per cent of schools not having a specialized physical education teacher and fitness classes on the rise in the curriculum there is a huge need for REP’s platform to support teachers and coaches in the workplace to ensure students are equipped with fitness knowledge and a proper foundation to build on.

Currently over 3,000 students are provided with workout programming customized to their needs and fitness level daily. The company’s goal is to reach 10,000 students by the end of 2021.
