Back for a second season

Skilled centre Jason Uhl has committed to the Sault College Cougars of the Division 3, American Collegiate Hockey Association for a second season.

Uhl, who has a 1997 birth date, has a solid hockey past.

Before going to Sault College last fall, Uhl skated for the Batchewana Attack of the now-defunct Canadian International Hockey League, the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and the St. Mary’s Knights of the local high school hockey loop.

Uhl is also an academic standout as a Bachelor of Science nursing student at Sault College.

Sault College is coached by veteran headmaster Mike Hall, he of multiple championships during his years behind the bench of the Soo North Stars of the Great North Midget Hockey League.

Rod Trudel is the Cougars holdover assistant coach and long-time Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League scout Charly Murray recently joined the Sault College staff in a scouting/recruiting capacity.
