Sault High Blue Devils have advanced to a semi-final match on the Michigan high school hockey Region 18 playoff scene.

In quarter-final play against the host Tawas Braves on Tuesday, Sault High scored twice in each of the first and third periods en route to a 5-2 victory.

Jory Homminga netted the hat trick to spark the Sault High attack and freshman goalie Camden Labadie was in net for the Blue Devils, who out-shot Tawas by a resounding 47-14 margin.

Up next is the semi-final game, which is slated for Thursday evening at 5:00 at Tawas Bay Ice Arena against the Alpena Wildcats. The game will be carried live on local radio station Eagle 95.1 http://EagleRadio951.com with broadcast booth brothers Tim Ellis and Clayton Ellis with the play by play and colour commentary.

A victory for Sault High would put it into the regional finals on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in Tawas against the winner of the other semi-final match between the Cheboygan Chiefs and Gaylord Blue Devils.
