Sault High Blue Devils have advanced to a semi-final match on the Michigan high school hockey Region 18 playoff scene.

In quarter-final play against the host Tawas Braves on Tuesday, Sault High scored twice in each of the first and third periods en route to a 5-2 victory.

Jory Homminga netted the hat trick to spark the Sault High attack and freshman goalie Camden Labadie was in net for the Blue Devils, who out-shot Tawas by a resounding 47-14 margin.

Up next is the semi-final game, which is slated for Thursday evening at 5:00 at Tawas Bay Ice Arena against the Alpena Wildcats. The game will be carried live on local radio station Eagle 95.1 with broadcast booth brothers Tim Ellis and Clayton Ellis with the play by play and colour commentary.

A victory for Sault High would put it into the regional finals on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in Tawas against the winner of the other semi-final match between the Cheboygan Chiefs and Gaylord Blue Devils.
