Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario product Cole Jarrett is adding to his world-class professional hockey resume by signing with the Belfast Giants of the British Elite League.

The 34-year old defenseman and former Ontario Hockey League standout with the erstwhile Plymouth Whalers had spent the past two seasons with the Tohoku Free Blades of the Asia League.

Following four full seasons in the OHL with Plymouth, Jarrett turned pro and played three years in the American Hockey League after being signed by the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. He played in one NHL game with the Islanders before heading out on what has become a world tour.
