Giving thanks for hockey

It is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada. But as there are family dinners with turkey and stuffing planned, there is also hockey to be played and enjoyed.

The levels are various, from the tykes to the pros, and the games go on from coast to coast throughout the hockey land.

For example, the little ones who vision themselves as future stars in Canada’s great game, pull on the jerseys, put on the pads, the masks and the skates and play the game. And hopefully, they do so for the pure enjoyment of it.

In this instance, in this Hockey News North photo, 7-year old Owen Whitehead of the Prouse Motors novice minors of the Soo Pee Wee Hockey League, gets ready to play the game on a Thanksgiving weekend, in full goalie gear.

Does hockey get any more innocent or pure than this?
