North American showcase

Looking to play junior A hockey in Ontario, Canada next season? Well, the newly-formed North American Junior Hockey Showcase has a series of upcoming camps planned.

The following camps have been arranged for all interested players born in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000.

— Canton, Michigan. Arctic Edge Arena, April 28, 29 and 30.

— Andover, Minnesota. Andover Recreation Complex, May 5, 6 and 7.

— Richmond Hill, Ontario. Elvis Stoyko Arena, May 25, 26 and 27.

— Calgary, Alberta. Flames Community Arenas, June 8, 9 and 10.

The camps are being targeted towards American and Canadian players who are currently playing at the midget AA, midget AAA, junior B and junior C levels.

COLLEGE HOCKEY COMBINE

And the North American Junior Hockey Showcase group also has plans to play host to a college hockey combine for those players who are ageing out of junior after this season.

All players are guaranteed five games and the top 40 players will be selected by school representatives in attendance to play in an all-star match.

In addition to the five-game guarantee, each player will receive a jersey, t-shirt and a lunch to be provided on the second day of the camp. There will also be a “meet and greet” with school representatives.

Camp officials say there will be representatives from more than 30 Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association programs in attendance along with some top-level American Collegiate Hockey Association, Division 1 schools looking to recruit and commit to players.
