Kyle Vigar is moving on from the Bradford Rattlers of the Greater Metro Jr. Hockey League to play at the Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association level.

The hard-nosed, 1996 birth-year defenseman who hails from Delhi, Ont., will play for the Neumann University Knights effective the 2017-2018 season.

The road to the NCAA had been a rocky one for Vigar, who had spent two seasons with a struggling Jr. C team before being scouted and signed by Bradford.

In fact, the summer before signing with the Rattlers, Vigar had quit hockey, thinking his career and dream of playing at the NCAA level was over.

“I had a rough junior career until I got the opportunity to come play for the Rattlers and it kind of turned everything around for me,” said Vigar.

“I was pretty much done hockey before (Rattlers general manager) Sean Werth gave me the opportunity to play for the Rattlers,” added Vigar.
