Attack goes up two on Rivermen

Batchewana Attack has taken a two games to none lead on the Espanola Rivermen in the best-of-seven, Canadian International Hockey League championship series.

Before 631 fans in Espanola on Friday, the Attack edged the Rivermen 2-1.

Sergei Khoroshun and Rob Delury scored for Batchewana, which got 36 saves from goalie Stefan Demetz.

Andrew Demarco scored the only goal for the Rivermen, who got 47 saves from goalie Keegan Paulette.

Game 3 in the series is slated for Sunday in Espanola.
