The championship series in the Great North Midget Hockey League is down to a best-of-three playoff set.

Top-seeded North Bay Trappers and second-seed Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves split a pair of weekend games in the Gateway City.

After North Bay won the opener 5-2 on Saturday, Sudbury evened the series with a 4-3 triumph on Sunday.

The series now shifts to Sudbury.

North Bay advanced to the title series by eliminating the Kapuskasing Flyers in the fifth-and-deciding game of the semi-finals. Sudbury earned its spot in the finals by upending the Soo Greyhounds in four games.
