An old sports adage relates to taking it one game at a time. That aside, Timmins Majors of the Great North Midget Hockey League have two games to play this weekend. And if the Majors can take advantage of being at home, they can turn two wins into a .500 record.

After playing five of their first six games of the 2018-2019 season on the road, Timmins is home for games on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Timmins will play host to the North Bay Minor Midget Trappers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and the Soo Major Midget Thunderbirds on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Both games are slated for venerable McIntyre Arena.

Coach Brandon Perry’s work-in-progress Majors have a record of 2-4-0 thus far, including a win over the New Liskeard Cubs in their only home appearance of the early season.

On the statistics slate, forward Brennen Martel leads the Majors in scoring with three goals, four assists, seven points. Next on the scoring chart are forward Garrett Gelinas with 2-3-5 numbers and defensemen Gavin Martel and Cameron Dutkiewicz with respective totals of 1-4-5 and 1-3-4.
