Second-seeded Soo Greyhounds solidified their standing in the Great North Midget Hockey League with a weekend-series sweep of the Sudbury Wolves.

Playing on the home ice of John Rhodes Community Centre, the Greyhounds completed a three-game brush with a 9-2, Sunday-matinee victory over the minor midget Wolves.

Earlier on the weekend, the Soo upended Sudbury by 13-3 and 10-1 scores.

The trio of triumphs boosts the Soo’s record to 24-6-3 in the second spot of the Great North loop, trailing the pace-setting North Bay Trappers.

The Greyhounds have three games to play in the regular season — all at home — before the beginning of the playoffs.

2001 birth-year forward Camaryn Baber — a top prospect for the 2017 Ontario Hockey League draft — had a pair of hat tricks for the Soo over the course of the three-game weekend. Baber now has 32 goals on the season.
