The general manager of the Kapuskasing Flyers has confirmed that he has been suspended indefinitely by the Great North Midget Hockey League team.

Darren Potvin was critical of both the Great North and the governing Northern Ontario Hockey Association with remarks that he made in a recent edition of The Community Press, which is a Kapuskasing-based publication.

Potvin lambasted the Great North and the NOHA over recent suspensions handed out to a pair of Kapuskasing players.

After subsequently being suspended by the Flyers organization, Potvin apologized to the Great North league, the NOHA and the Kapuskasing team for the “inappropriate remarks” that he made.

Potvin posted a full apology on his Twitter page.

The Flyers, who finished in second place during the Great North regular season, will face off against the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves in a semi-final playoff series that begins this weekend.
