Win one, lose one. Soo Major Thunderbirds split a pair of Great North Midget Hockey League games against the visiting New Liskeard Cubs this weekend.

After blanking New Liskeard 4-0 on Saturday via shutout goal-tending from Noah Zeppa and two-point efforts from forward Nick Jameus and defenseman Jordan Ritchie, the Major T-Birds dropped a 4-3 Sunday morning match to the Cubs.

Jacob Sewell scored twice and fellow forward Kurtis Rogers had three assists for the Soo in today’s defeat.

The Majors T-Birds now have a record of 3-14-0 on the season while the Cubs improved to 5-11-0 and have moved into fifth place in the nine-team Great North.
