Major T-Birds work extra
Soo Major Thunderbirds of the Great North Midget Hockey League have ended the 2018 portion of the season in a winning way.
Brock Santa Maria scored in overtime as the visiting Major Thunderbirds netted a 6-5 victory over the New Liskeard Cubs on Sunday. The goal by Santa Maria was his team-leading 14th of the 2018-2019 campaign.
The win for the Major Thunderbirds improved their record to 8-22-0 within the nine-team Great North.
The Soo crew is now off from Great North play until the New Year with a pair of road games on January 4 and 5 to begin 2019.
