Major weekend at home

Timmins Majors get to stay home this weekend. After playing five of their first six games of the 2018-2019 Great North Midget Hockey League season on the road, Timmins is home for games on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Coach Brandon Perry’s Majors will play host to the North Bay Minor Midget Trappers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and the Soo Major Midget Thunderbirds on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Both games are slated for venerable McIntyre Arena.

Timmins has a record of 2-4-0 thus far. The Majors won their home opener last Friday, a 6-4 decision over the New Liskeard Cubs.

Forward Brennen Martel leads the Majors in scoring with three goals, four assists, seven points. Next on the scoring chart are forward Garrett Gelinas with 2-3-5 numbers and defensemen Gavin Martel and Cameron Dutkiewicz with respective totals of 1-4-5 and 1-3-4.
