There is a semblance of steadiness within the Great North Midget Hockey League thus far this 2019-2020 season.

Soo Jr. Greyhounds are at the top of the standings with a record of 7-1-0 and most of the rest of the Great North pack are within a howl.

Kapuskasing Flyers are close on the trail of the Jr. Greyhounds with a record of 5-2-0.

And not far behind are the North Bay Major Trappers with a 4-4-0 mark, the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves at 3-3-0, the New Liskeard Cubs at 3-4-0, the North Bay Minor Trappers also at 3-4-0, the Timmins Majors with a 1-4-2 showing and the Sudbury Minor Wolves — who have played just two games — checking in at 0-1-1.

Of note, New Liskeard has won three successive games after starting the season with four losses.

Individually, Soo speedster Devin Mauro leads the points parade with eight goals and eight assists.

In pursuit of Mauro are Jackson Buffam of New Liskeard with six goals, nine assists, 15 points, Benjamin White of the Cubs with 5-9-14 totals, Brendan Aubertin of Kapuskasing with 9-4-13 numbers and Gavin Ritacco of the Soo with a 5-7-12 log.

Up next are three players with 11 points apiece — Ethan Esposito of the Soo, Nathaniel Lalonde of the North Bay Major Trappers and Zach Lajoie of New Liskeard.

Four others have 10 points each — Ethan Masson of the Major Trappers, Landon Deforge of Timmins, Dawson Linklater of Kapuskasing and Carter Richmond of New Liskeard.
