Kapuskasing Flyers of the Great North Midget Hockey League have signed 13 players ahead of the continuation of their spring tryout camp which wraps up this weekend.

Flyers president Darren Potvin confirmed the signing of seven returnees and six newcomers for the 2017-2018 season.

Returning to Kap will be forwards Jacob Comeau, Jared Dupuis, Martin Poisson and Mathieu Parent and defensemen Gabriel John-George, Cooper Roussy and Sylvain Gravel. Parent was a member of Team NOHA at the recent OHL Cup Tournament.

Newcomers signed are goalie Sebastien Plamondon, defenseman Ryan Maynard and forwards Samuel Vachon, Dawson Linklater, Nicholas Belisle and Blane Boissonneault.

Potvin told HockeyNewsNorth.com that the Flyers will sign more players at the weekend tryout camp.

The Flyers finished a solid fourth in the seven-team Great North during the 2016-2017 season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs before losing to the no. 1 seed North Bay Trappers.
