Soo major midget add-ons
Two more players have been added to the roster of the Soo Major Midget Thunderbirds of the Great North Midget Hockey League, Hockey News North has confirmed.
Defenseman Jordan Ritchie and forward Cole Delarosbil have signed with the Soo major midgets and are slated to be in the lineup for home games this weekend against the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves and Kapuskasing Flyers. Both players have 2001 birth dates.
Ritchie has opted to return to the Soo major midgets for a second season after exploring other options. The dependable defender also saw action with the French River Rapids of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League as an affiliate player in 2017-2018.
Delarosbil played at the high school level in Sault Ste. Marie for the St. Mary’s Knights last season.
The addition of Ritchie and Delarosbil gives the Soo major midgets an active roster of 11 forwards, five defensemen and two goalies.
The Soo major midgets opened the 2018-2019 Great North season last weekend and split a pair of home games with the Timmins Majors.
