Toms is top minor midget
Defenseman Connor Toms of the Soo Jr. Greyhounds of the Great North Midget Hockey League has been named the Northern Ontario Hockey Association’s minor midget (2004 birth date) player of the year.
Toms netted nine goals, 17 assists, 26 points for a Jr. Greyhounds team that finished atop the Great North regular season standings with a record of 28-7-3.
The 5-foot-10, 150-pound defender is being projected by some as a second or third round pick at the Saturday, April 4 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.
