If Timmins Majors are to extend their playoff season the upstart Great North Midget Hockey League team cannot lose their next game.

The Majors head back to Timmins for Game 3 of their second-round, best-of-five, playoff series down two games to none to the North Bay Trappers.

The no. 1 seed in the Great North, North Bay used home ice to cuff no. 5 seed Timmins 6-3 on Friday and 9-2 on Saturday to take a commanding lead in the series.

Game 3 is slated for Timmins this coming Saturday at 7:30 p.m. If the Majors can defeat the Trappers for the first time this season, it will set up Game 4 in Timmins next Sunday.

To be sure, it will be a tough task for coach-of-the-year Brandon Perry and his Majors to extend the series as North Bay finished 35 points ahead of Timmins during the regular season.

The Majors, though, have proven they can win in the playoffs, having ousted the no. 4 seed Soo Greyhounds in two straight games in the opening round.
