Winners of four successive games, the hard-skating Soo Eagles will play host to the Springfield Jr. Blues this evening in the first of three games in as many nights between the North American Hockey League North Division foes.

Game times are 7 p.m. tonight, 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday.

All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN 1400 Radio with the inimitable John Bell calling the play-by-play.

The Eagles head into the three-game set with Springfield tied for second place in the North Division with the Keystone Ice Miners. Both teams have 53 points with 12 games to play in the regular season.

Springfield is tied for fifth place with the Michigan Warriors with 43 points each — which is six points out of the fourth-and-final playoff spot that is held by the Johnstown Tomahawks.

The Eagles are expected to have veteran forward Chase Matson back in the lineup tonight. The smooth-skating Matson, who is one of undisputed leaders on the Eagles, has been sidelined the past two weekends with an upper-body injury.

Matson has 12 goals, 11 assists, 23 points in 42 games with the Eagles this season.
