100+ points for Jake Palmerio

Soo Eagles forward Jake Palmerio reached and surpassed a career milestone on Wednesday in his team’s 5-0 win over the Rayside-Balfour Canadians.

Palmerio had a goal and an assist to boost his three-year career point totals in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League to 101, 54 of which are goals.

A Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native, Palmerio has played his entire NOJHL career with the Michigan-based Eagles.

The 1997 birth year skater had 11 goals, 5 assists, 16 points in 44 games in 2015-2016. He then followed up with 21 goals, 25 assists, 46 points in 2016-2017. And in 49 games thus far this 2017-2018 season, the Eagles captain and heart-and-soul leader has 22 goals, 17 assists, 39 points in 49 games.

On top of reaching the 100-point plateau — and topping it — Palmerio has played in 18 playoff games for the Eagles over the past two seasons and has 8 goals, 4 assists, 12 points.
