Hulking, 6-foot-7, 225-pound defenseman Ethan Lavallee has opted to re-sign with the Rayside Balfour Canadians for a third season in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

Lavallee, who hails from the Greater Sudbury town of Skead, has played in 100 career NOJHL games for Rayside Balfour and has 23 goals, 41 assists, 64 points.

Rayside Balfour general manager Jeff Forsyth applauded the return of the big, 2000 birth-year defender.

“Adding a player of Ethan’s caliber and leadership to our lineup is a great boost for us,” relayed Forsyth. “Ethan is an outstanding young man and a great player both on and off the ice who will be a key part of our success this season.”

Lavallee, in turn, is happy to be making a return to the game with Rayside Balfour.

“I’m very excited to be back playing again,”said Lavallee. “I’d like to thank the Burgess family ownership, the management team, and the coaching staff for the opportunity to join the team this season. We’ve got a highly skilled team this year that I look forward to working with as we fight to bring a championship to Rayside.”
