1998 birth year forward Zach Senecal is returning to the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, this time with the Blind River Beavers.

Hockey News North has confirmed the acquisition of Senecal by Blind River from the Trenton Golden Hawks of the Ontario Jr. Hockey League in a cash exchange.

Senecal was traded to Trenton by the Soo Thunderbirds during the off season and had 13 points in 23 OJHL games with the Golden Hawks before he requested a move back to the NOJHL.

The Thunderbirds were interested in re-acquiring Senecal but Trenton opted to trade the 6-foot-1, 175 pound forward to Blind River instead.

Senecal played two full seasons with the Thunderbirds before the trade to Trenton. He had 10 goals, 10 assists, 20 points in 2015-2016 before erupting for 33 goals, 27 assists, 60 points in 2016-2017.

Senecal becomes the latest major acquisition by the Beavers, who recently obtained veteran defenseman Ryan Mulligan from the Thunderbirds and veteran goalie Camden Burggrabe via the North American Hockey League.
