Sault Ste. Marie product Mark Tassone is poised to move on from the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League to sign with the Coulee Region Chill of the North American Hockey League, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.

The 5-foot-11, 190 pound, 1999 birth-year forward impressed Coulee Region coach-general manager Ryan Egan and his staff at a recent open tryout camp.

Based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Coulee Region competes within the Midwest Division of the junior level NAHL. Under the ownership of Michelle Bryant, the Chill is regarded as a model, small market, NAHL franchise.

Tassone is coming off two productive NOJHL seasons with the Thunderbirds. In 102 regular season games with the Thunderbirds, Tassone produced 31 goals, 38 assists, 69 points as one of the younger players in the league.

A character individual from a good family, Tassone is represented by David Maciuk of JDM Sports Management.
