A reinforcement is poised to rejoin the Espanola Express in time for its Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League preliminary-round playoff series against the Soo Eagles.

Rookie forward Cole Delarosbil, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound Sault Ste. Marie product who broke his ankle in an NOJHL game back on January 3 of this year, has been cleared to return to the Espanola lineup.

The fifth-place Express and the fourth-seeded Eagles will face off in a best-of-three series that begins next Wednesday (March 4) at Pullar Stadium in the Michigan Soo.

The winner of the series will advance to the West Division semi-finals against the top-seeded Rayside Balfour Canadians.

Before being injured, Delaosbil — who has a 2001 birth date — had six goals, three assists, nine points in 25 games for Espanola this season.

Last season, while skating for the Soo Jr. Greyhounds of the Great North Midget Hockey League, Delarosbil netted 12 goals, five assists, 17 points in 38 games, playoffs included.
