There are only two games to play on the 2017-2018 regular season schedule in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

And both games can affect the final standings in the West Division.

Both matches involve the Soo Thunderbirds, who are home to the Rayside-Balfour Canadians tonight and the Soo Eagles on Wednesday evening.

Going into the two tilts, Rayside-Balfour leads the West with 77 points from 55 games followed by the Thunderbirds with 75 points from 54 games.

The Eagles are in fourth place with 69 points from 55 games, one point back of the third-place Blind River Beavers, who have completed their schedule.

Which ever team finishes in fourth place — the Michigan Soo or Blind River — will face off against the fifth-seeded Elliot Lake Wildcats in a best-of-three, West Division preliminary series.

Final standings have already been determined in the East Division, where fourth-place Hearst Lumberjacks will meet fifth-ranked Timmins Rock in the best-of-three prelim.
