Owen Kipke, a seasoned defenseman with experience gained in the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League and the Ontario Jr. Hockey League, has signed with the Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

A 6-foot-1, 175-pound defender with good puck-moving skills, Kipke divided an injury-shortened 2016-2017 season with the Milton Icehawks and Oakville Blades of the OJHL. He spent the 2015-2016 campaign as a point-producing blue-liner with the Waterloo Siskins of the GOJHL.

A Michigan product who played high school hockey at reputable Detroit Catholic Central, Kipke has a 1997 birth date.

“He brings some quality experience to us,” Eagles general manager/associate coach Bruno Bragagnolo told HockeyNewsNorth.com. “Owen is a good player with a good background.”
