Soo Eagles shrugged off a four-game losing streak — and a goal-scoring drought — with an 8-1 rout of the visiting Blind River Beavers in Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League action from Friday.

Newcomer Roman Gaudet made his Eagles debut by scoring three goals and adding two assists as the Michiganders improved to 2-6-1 with the triumph.

The Eagles had scored only two goals and were shut out twice in dropping their previous four outings.

Captain Jake Hernandez also had a big game for the Eagles on Friday with a pair of goals.

The Eagles are home again tonight when the powerful Cochrane Crunch brings its 9-1 record to Pullar Stadium for a match that is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
