Soo Eagles are in position to overtake the Blind River Beavers for third place in the West Division when the regular season in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League draws to a close tonight.

The Eagles will face the second-place Soo Thunderbirds in a 7:30 p.m. match at John Rhodes Community Centre.

Going into tonight’s game, the Eagles are in fourth place with 69 points from 55 games, one point back of third-place Blind River, which has completed its regular-season schedule.

Which ever team finishes in fourth place — the Eagles or Beavers — will face off against the fifth-seeded Elliot Lake Wildcats in a best-of-three, West Division preliminary series.

What you think about “Eagles in search of third”

  1. Lots at stake for t birds too. Depends on who they would like to match up with in their first round. Should be a barn burning playoff series anyway in west division.

  2. Meanwhile the Blind River Beavers will be in attendance to see for themselves to see their playoffs fate. Will be interesting.
