Eagles whitewash Wildcats
It was a neutral site, Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League exhibition game that was played before a smattering of fans today at GFL Memorial Gardens.
And it was the Michigan-based Soo Eagles that blanked the Elliot Lake Wildcats 3-0 at the Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Veteran goalie Shane Brancato and his rookie sidekick Ryan Gilmore combined to make 20 saves for the Eagles in the shutout triumph.
Kyle Portlock, George Orfanos and Logan Eggleston tallied solo goals apiece for the Eagles.
Why was the game at GFL? Why not in the Michigan Soo at Pullar or Big Bear?
