Eagles win home opener

After beginning the 2018-2019 season with five road games, Soo Eagles skated to a 7-3 home-ice victory over the Blind River Beavers before more than 700 fans at Pullar Stadium.

The Friday night win for the Eagles evened their record at 3-3-0 through six games of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League regular-season schedule.

Caleb Wood and Riley Jensen both netted pair of goals to lead the Eagles past Blind River.

Wood, a rookie forward from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, now has five goals, one assist, six points in six games for the Michigan-based Eagles.

And Jensen, who hails from Wisconsin, also has five goals as an Eagles rookie forward.
