Liam Blais, who clicked for 21 goals for the Elliot Lake Wildcats of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League in 2015-2016, is off to the collegiate ranks.

Blais has committed to play at the Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association level for the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellow Jackets.

A 1995 birth-year forward, Blais is moving on from Elliot Lake with a good feeling.

“Playing for the Wildcats the last two seasons gave me an opportunity to play for a great organization and to move on to the next level, Blais relayed to HockeyNewsNorth.com. “Everything from the coaching staff, to the trainers, to the billets and the most-dedicated fans in the league made it a great two years in Elliot Lake that I will never forget.”

Wildcats general manager Todd Stencill said Blais left his mark in Elliot Lake.

“We are so happy for Liam,” Stencill said of Blais. “He is a first-class young man who did so much for our program both on and off the ice.”
