Hard-nosed, high-scoring forward Aaron Roschinsky is taking his talents from the Espanola Express of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League to the Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association level.

Roschinsky has committed to play for the Illinois-based Aurora University Spartans effective the 2017-2018 season.

A relentless skater with a work ethic to match, Roschinsky racked up 23 goals, 24 assists, 47 points and 134 penalty in 48 games for Espanola in 2016-2017.

“I am very excited about the chance to play hockey at Aurora University in the fall. I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to continue my hockey career but also further my education at such a great school,” said Roschinsky, who added that will miss Espanola.

“The past two years playing hockey in Espanola has been one of the best experiences of my life. I could not think of a better place to have finished my junior career. The support that myself and the hockey team received from the town is unmatched and I could not be more thankful for that,” said the product of the Detroit area town of Canton.

Express general manager Chad Clarke said Roschinsky’s presence around the NOJHL team was “greatly respected.

“Aaron is an incredible young man…I cannot say enough good things about,” said Clarke.

What you think about “Express commitment to NCAA”

  1. Roach really was the only player this team had outside of their goalie Logan Sawka and defenceman Riley Tilot.

By the end of the year all of their pretty decent players all got dealt for futures or cash…so I’m glad to see he at least landed on his feet. Hope to hear Riley get a scholarship too, kid was a horse for them.

  2. According to the Espanola Express website (alumni) Riley Tilot will be playing for NCAA DIII BETHEL UNIVERSITY next year,
