Espanola Express of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League has confirmed the signing of Quebec-born, 2000 birth-year defenceman Malcom Gamelin.

The 6-foot-1 product of the Ulysse Academy in Quebec is coming off a 2017-2018 season in which he totaled 32 points in 33 games.

“We are excited to have Malcom Gamelin join us,” said Espanola president and general manager Chad Clarke. “We feel that he will be either the top or one of the top skaters in the NOJHL … his speed is incredible.”

Clarke added that while Gamelin has an offensive side to him, he can also be considered a strong defensive defenceman.

“Gamelin had all kinds of offers from some great teams and we couldn’t be prouder that he chose Espanola to develop his career and to have us help him advance it,” boasted Clarke.

The Express will be holding its main camp in Espanola on August 25-26. Interested players can register online via www.espanolaexpress.com/1021-2
