Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League have promoted a pair of prospects — including forward Zacharie Giroux from the Rayside Balfour Canadians of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League — for an upcoming three-game road trip to Barrie, Sudbury and North Bay.

The 16-year old Giroux was taken by Flint from the Sudbury Minor Wolves of the Great North Midget Hockey League in the third round, 57th overall, at the 2019 OHL priority selections draft.

The 5-foot-5, 135-pound speed demon has six goals, nine assists, 15 points in 16 games with Rayside Balfour thus far this NOJHL season.

Also joining Flint on the three-game road trip is 17-year old goalie Peyton Grainer from the Detroit Belle Tire major midgets. Grainer was signed by Flint as a free agent before the start of this season.

The Firebirds currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference of the OHL with 32 points from a record of 16-10-0.
