Veteran Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League bench boss Corey Bricknell has resigned as coach and general manager of the Elliot Lake Wildcats. Elliot Lake has lost five straight games and has a record of 9-16-2 through 27 games of the 2018-2019 season.

Bricknell has moved on from Elliot Lake to take a pro hockey coaching job in Hungary.

Meanwhile, Hockey News North has confirmed that Trevor Ritchie, who was Bricknell’s assistant, will move up as co-coach and general manager of the Wildcats. As well, Gord Ouimet will help out as co-coach of the Wildcats in addition to his bench duties with the midget rep team in Elliot Lake.

The Wildcats are expected to add on to their coaching staff with the hiring of an assistant in the new year.
