Espanola Express of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League has inked 1999 birth year forward Zack Matyasik from the Brockville Tikis of the Central Canada Tier 2 Hockey League.

The American-born Matyasik led Brockville in scoring in 2017-2018 with 20 goals, 22 assists, 42 points.

“Zack is a fast, skilled forward with great vision and is always dangerous around the net,” noted Espanola general manager Chad Clarke.

According to Clarke, Matyasik could have stayed in Brockville.

“Zack had the opportunity to move up and play with the (CCHL Tier 1) Brockville Braves this year but he chose to join the Express to develop and advance his career,” Clarke noted.

What you think about “Express via Brockville”

  1. While I agree that things seem to be looking better for this year’s Express, management has still only announced the signing of 7 players (a goalie, 2 defencemen, 4 forwards). Hopefully further announcements will be coming soon, as that would continue to build the anticipation that seems to be spreading in town. Espanola is a good hockey market. Just look at last year’s attendance for a team that won only 2 games.

  2. Hello ESPOFAN come on out this weekend and you will see the excitement. I believe the team currently has 13 players signed and this weekend is a big weekend for players to make an impression.
