Powassan Voodoos of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have stayed close to home with the signing of North Bay Trappers AAA midget graduate Dylan D’Agostino.

A 2000 birth-year forward, D’Agostino was a 10th-round selection of the Hamilton Bulldogs at the 2016 Ontario Hockey League draft. He potted 12 goals, 12 assists, 24 points in 26 games for the Great North Midget Hockey League Trappers in 2015-2016.

“It is a great privilege and honour to start my junior career off with the Voodoos, said D’Agostino. “The organization is top class with great leadership and ownership. I look forward to getting started and working with coach (Scott) Wray.”

Voodoos general manager Chris Dawson is happy to have the 6-foot, 170-pound D’Agostino on board in Powssaan.

“He has a lot of potential and he’s a player we hope develops within our hockey program,” Dawson noted.
