Twin brothers Darian Pilon and Drake Pilon of Sault Ste. Marie have signed with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League, HockeyNewsNorth.com has learned.

The undrafted, 1998 birth-year forwards, known for their relentless, pesky style of play, starred for the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League champion Soo Thunderbirds in 2015-2016.

The high-energy pepperpots had virtually identical numbers with the Thunderbirds last season.

In 53 games, regular-season and playoffs included, Darian had 19 goals, 29 assists, 48 points and 81 penalty minutes.

Drake, on the other hand, had 18 goals, 28 assists, 46 points and 104 penalty minutes in 56 games.

Being from Sault Ste. Marie, the devilish duo are poised to add a sizzling spark to the northern OHL rivalry between the Wolves and Soo Greyhounds.

Prior to playing in the NOJHL for the Thunderbirds in ’15-16, the pair patrolled the forward lines for the erstwhile Batchewana Attack of the now-defunct Canadian International Hockey League.

Wolves general manager Barclay Branch confirmed the signing of the twin terrors to HockeyNewsNorth.com and was full of praise for the 5-foot-10, 175-pound pests who don’t turn 18-years of age until October.

“This was just a classic case of two kids coming into training camp and earning their way on to the team,” Branch said of the Pilon boys. “They gave us no choice but to keep them. They made an impact right from the start of training camp.”
