Soo boys in EL, Espanola

Four skaters who played major midget hockey for teams in Sault Ste. Marie in 2018-2019 have landed spots down the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League highway between Elliot Lake and Espanola.

Forward Nick Jameus and defensemen Jordan Ritchie and Hayden Daca have signed with the Elliot Lake Wildcats while forward Cole Delarosbil has joined the Espanola Express.

Jameus, Ritchie and Delarosbil all saw action with the Soo Major Thunderbirds (now known as the Soo Jr. Greyhounds) of the Great North Midget Hockey League in 2018-2019 while Daca suited up for the Soo Indians of the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association.

Jameus had five goals, 10 assists, 15 points in 21 games with the Major Thunderbirds in 2018-2019 before joining the rival Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves later in the season and netting two assists in five outings.

Skating in the Great North for the Soo major midgets, Ritchie had a goal, seven assists, eight points in 30 games while Delarosbil had nine goals, three assists, 12 points in 32 matches.

Over to Daca, he produced two goals, seven assists, nine points in 52 games from his blue-line position for the major midget Indians.
