Soo Eagles add old scout
Seasoned scout Charly Murray has joined the staff of the Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.
Murray spent the 2016-2017 season as senior advisor and scouting director for the Blind River Beavers and played a significant role in their rise from a lowly team to one that won the NOJHL West Division title.
After deciding not to return to the Beavers for next season, Murray recently met with Eagles general manager Bruno Bragagnolo and they finalized an agreement for the venerable scout to work for the Michigan Soo squad.
The ageless Murray, who has spent parts of five decades as a junior hockey scout, said he feels “very comfortable” joining an Eagles staff which is led by the reputable Bragagnolo and veteran NOJHL coach Jim Capy.
“I am more than happy to join the Eagles and to scout and evaluate players for Bruno and Jim,” Murray relayed.
The Old Goat is back, see ya at the rink.
Old hockey scouts never die they just fade away. Keep on scouting charly.
Ageless Murray 🙂 way to go Snappy!! I know you’ll be a great addition to a great team!!!
Congratulations to the Eagles! Charly will work his magic there without a doubt!
