Soo Eagles to Wisconsin
Chris Murphy, who led Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League in scoring this past season, has committed to play for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons.
Eagles associate coach/general manager Bruno Bragagnolo confirmed Murphy’s commitment — which is effective the 2017-2018 season — to HockeyNewsNorth.com.
Murphy, a 6-foot-2, 185 lb. forward from the Detroit area, topped the Eagles scoring chart in 2016-2017 with 23 goals, 41 assists, 64 points in 52 regular-season games.
He will be joining his former Eagles teammate Brad Hofelich at Wisconsin-River Falls, which is a Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association school. Hofelich finished one point behind Murphy in scoring this past season.
