Soo T-Birds sign Cicchello
Tristano Cicchello, a 2001 birth year defenseman who starred for the Soo Greyhounds of the Great North Midget Hockey League last season, has signed with the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.
The talented and tough defender put up 9 goals, 16 assists, 25 points in 31 regular season games as a 15-year old rookie with the Soo midgets in 2016-2017.
At 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, Cicchello nonetheless showed a rugged side by racking up 84 minutes in penalties.
Despite having such a good season with the Soo midgets, Cicchello was somehow bypassed at the 2017 Ontario Hockey League draft.
The kid can play. Should of been an O.H.L. Draft pick.
