Voodoos to Red Dragons
Defenseman Justin Schebel is moving on from the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League champion Powassan Voodoos to the Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association level.
The 1996 birth-year product of Brighton, Michigan is headed to Cortland, N.Y. to play for the SUNY Red Dragons effective the 2017-2018 campaign.
Schebel said he really enjoyed his time in the NOJHL and playing for and winning a championship with Powassan.
“The staff treated me with the upmost respect and gave me the tools I needed to be successful,” said Schebel. “My billets did everything they could to make sure that I was well fed and had a good place to call home. It was a special team that will not be soon forgotten.”
