Seven Up
There’s nothing quite like quenching a playoff thirst than with the refreshing taste of a Game 7. Mmmmm. Bring it on, baby.
For the second straight series, Soo Greyhounds will play host to a seventh-and-deciding game.
This time it will be the Kitchener Rangers who will provide a Game 7 showdown for the Greyhounds, who previously upended the Owen Sound Attack in a deciding match in the second round of the Ontario Hockey League Western Conference playoffs.
Tonight’s Game 7 has a slated 7:07 p.m. start in downtown Houndtown.
Playing at home on Sunday afternoon, No. 2 seed Kitchener forced tonight’s game that will decide the Western Conference title by taking a 4-3 overtime victory over no. 1 ranked Soo.
Greyhound nemesis Kole Sherwood scored his 14th goal of the playoffs as the overtime winner and Sault Ste. Marie native Mario Culina had a spectacular 45-save outing to spark the Rangers to the stunning Game 6 victory.
The Greyhounds carried momentum into the overtime after Taylor Raddysh tallied two late third-period goals to tie the game 3-3.
But Culina made a couple of game-saving stops before fellow overager Sherwood netted the OT winner.
The winner of tonight’s game will advance to the OHL finals against the Eastern Conference champion Hamilton Bulldogs.

Should be a great game tonight. I wish Smith and Sherwood would have played in my era, they wouldn’t have made it through a period with those kind of antics. A nice old fashion beat down is what they both need. Go Hounds Go !!!!
A stick to the groin of Boris Katchouk, no suspension.

Giviani Smith gives the middle finger to the Hounds bench, he is out two games.
Justice in the OHL.
