Camping out with Wolves
Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League have signed four players while reducing their training camp roster to 27.
Among the newcomers signed are forwards Blake McConville and Nolan Hutcheson, defenseman Emmett Serensits and goalie David Bowen.
Of note, Bowen is the son of iconic Toronto Maple Leafs play-by-play announcer Joe Bowen. Before going on to fame as the voice of the National Hockey League Maple Leafs, the elder Bowen — who is a Sudbury native — did play-by-play for the Wolves on radio station CKSO.
The 27 players that remain with the Wolves include 15 forwards, 9 defensemen and 3 goalies.
Goalies: David Bowen, Marshall Frappier, Jake McGrath.
Defensemen: Conor Ali, Brandon Bastasin, Nolan Makkonen, Zack Malik, Liam Ross, Reagan O’Grady, Kyle Rhodes, Emmett Serensits, Zach Wilkie.
Forwards: Dawson Baker, Shane Bulitka, Macauley Carson, Owen Gilhula, Nolan Hutcheson, Owen Lane, David Levin, Blake McConville, Blake Murray, Michael Pezzetta, Darian Pilon, Drake Pilon, Dmitry Sokolov, Anthony Tabak, Ryan Valentini.
