Goalie Marshall Frappier has signed with the Sudbury Wolves after being their sixth-round pick at the 2017 Ontario Hockey League draft.

Bypassed entirely at the 2016 OHL draft, the 6-foot-2 Frappier rose in height and performance with the Nepean Raiders of the Central Canada Hockey League in 2016-2017 and was the only non major junior goalie to represent Canada at last November’s world under 17 tournament that was held in Sault Ste. Marie.

With a 2000 birth date, Frappier will compete for the Wolves backup job behind holdover starter Jake McGrath, who has a 1999 birth date.

“I am looking forward to coming to camp in September and earning a spot on the team,” said Frappier from his home in Nepean. “My focus this summer is to continue to improve my skills and be in the best physical and mental condition possible. It’s really exciting to be part of the Sudbury Wolves…I can’t wait to get to Sudbury.”
