The puck continues to stop with Bailey Brkin. Making his 13th straight start tonight, the overage goalie made 35 saves as the Soo Greyhounds won their fifth game in a row.

Playing at home, the Greyhounds cuffed the visiting Owen Sound Attack by a 4-2 margin. The win boosted the Soo’s record to the .500 level at 15-15-2.

As for Brkin, who is of Croatian descent, he continued his outstanding play since being acquired by the Greyhounds on Nov. 12 via Ontario Hockey League trade with the Kingston Frontenacs, who had claimed him off Western Hockey League waivers from the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Brkin now has a record of 9-3-1 with a 3.17 goals against average and .894 save percentage while stabilizing the Greyhounds goal-tending situation in a major way since arriving in the Soo in exchange for fellow overage goalie Christian Propp.

Besides Brkin, forward Zack Trott stood out for the Soo tonight with two goals and an assist in the win over Owen Sound.
