Fired up again in Flint

Another day, another victory. After beginning the 2018-2019 Ontario Hockey League season by failing to win in their first 17 outings, Flint Firebirds won their second straight game tonight.

Playing at home, the Firebirds upended the Western Conference leading Soo Greyhounds 4-2 before a Friday night following of 3,200 fans at Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center.

Hot-handed Flint forward Jake Durham scored twice and added an assist and goalie Luke Cavallin made 40 saves to spark the Firebirds, who improved their record to 2-16-1 with the win. The Greyhounds now have a record of 12-4-4.

Durham had three goals as Flint won its first game of the season on Wednesday, upending the Sarnia Sting by a 7-4 margin.
